Winter Blessings
Thank you, thank you, thank you for reading, for giving me a supportive nudge of encouragement to get back out into the world.
Conscious of not taking up too much space in your mailbox as we near the end of the year, I’ll keep it brief.
I’ve struggled with December this year, trying to navigate a path that allows connection without the overload of consumerism. For many years December has felt frantic. At times I’ve longed for a place where I could shelter from the storm of Christmas and instead celebrate the movement from one phase of our planet turning to the next. Over this past year I’ve realised that is the pause after the festivals that I embrace. These quiet days are when I feel most energised.
This week we visited Anglesey Abbey, near Cambridge for the Winter Lights, and here was a space where (if you sidestepped the gift shop), winter was allowed to simply be. To be resplendent in her darkness. Lights, sounds and scents combined to give a truly immersive experience.
If you have a few minutes, enjoy the below - favourite tipple and mince pie optional!
However you celebrate, may it be filled with warmth and love.
